throwback :: quynh + brendan

We love the summer over here at dGE - beach, summer beach weddings, BBQ's and Dark + Stormy's are only a few reasons to love the heat! But with this recent humidity, we find ourselves in our air-conditioned studio dreaming about fall and our upcoming fall weddings! We have some amazing couples coming up in our fall roster at some killer venues! But in the meantime, what better TBT wedding than that of Quynh + Brendan's fall wedding at Waveny House in New Canaan, CT on October 8, 2011.

Quynh was and is one of my most fun and bubbly brides to have the pleasure of working with to date! Not only did we have a blast together planning her and Brendan's wedding but there were also a few drinks and McDonald's lunches squeezed in between meetings and consults! Those chicken nuggets are just BOMB and I can't even blame their adorable daughter Olivia on the choice of restaurant!

This wedding was the epitome of fall, with toasted leaves, apples, pears and pumpkins as decor, candied apples for favors (delish!) and Quynh's favorite color of eggplant thrown in the mix! Such a fun wedding, such a PHENOM couple and amazing photos by Scanlan Photography. Check it!

english garden wedding :: greta + brian

WEDDING. SEASON. IS. HERE. And what better way to kick off 2014 with one of our FAVE weddings from 2013!

This wedding was not only phenomenal but a true celebration of a marriage between two people and their families. Working with Greta and Brian was amazing and their love for one another throughout the planing process is what every planner dreams of. They were a true team! I met Greta and Brian almost two years before their wedding at Panera Bread in Norwalk, CT and for me, it was love at first site. Their love story should be a novel; boy meets girl, girl moves almost across the country to be with him, they fall in love and decide to share the rest of their lives together. With Greta having left behind all of her family and friends in Alabama, she knew she needed a planner and we are so honored they chose us to join this journey with them! Their first request; nothing traditional and they LOVED brunch!

This intimate garden wedding took place on the breathtaking grounds of the Gwyn Careg Inn in Pomfret, CT. Driving onto the property with gorgeous trees flanking the drive while the horses roamed was the perfect setting for this brunch celebration of family and friends. There was no first dance, no introductions, no bouquet toss, just lawn games, family and friends gathering to watch two people say "I do" and eat a slammin' brunch while an A Capella group serenaded them in the background.
